The Angle Type Quick Opening Sludge Valve is specifically engineered for severe-service applications within sewage treatment pipelines and industrial wastewater facilities. Typically installed in rows on the outer side wall at the bottom of sedimentation tanks, this flanged cast iron valve is designed to efficiently discharge accumulated sludge, grit, and other solid contaminants.

Unlike traditional piston valves, this sludge valve utilizes a highly durable nylon-reinforced rubber diaphragm that divides the valve body into two distinct chambers. When connected to a hydraulic or pneumatic power source, the valve is operated via an electric or manual 2/4-way directional control valve, enabling rapid and complete blowdown. The innovative diaphragm design eliminates internal motion friction, making it exceptionally suited for handling abrasive, particle-containing media. This structural advantage ensures reliable continuous operation and significantly extends the overall service life of the pipeline system.
